The Other Day

The other day in the market, I heard two old men say,
“Did you see the boy in the temple; I spoke to the other day?”

Years went by, and I forgot, until one day, I saw,
A man collect four fishermen along a sandy shore.

“I will make you catch men”, he said, “if you will follow me,”
“And I will show you the House of God, and you will happy be.”

Oh, many a time I listened still, to all the tales he'd tell,
And then I watched his hand at will, make all the people well.

While praying in Gethsemane, they led our Lord away,
And Peter, he denied him thrice, not knowing what to say.

The other day in the market, I heard two old men say
“They've crucified a carpenter, along the Appian Way.”
“They've crucified a carpenter, along the Appian Way.”
